Similar to sunglass lenses, some tinting film contain metallic elements that help in reflecting incoming light and reducing the glare and heat generated by visible light.

Window Tint Failure
All window film deteriorates with age and has to be removed. Two of the most common symptoms of dyed film are the dreaded “purple film” and the “bubbling film”. Purple film is caused by non-metallic dyes in the film breaking down and changing color. Bubbling film is a sign that the adhesive used to apply the tint to the window is failing. After a single bubble appears, many more will follow. If you attempt to remove the window tint simply by peeling, you’ll probably end up with a sticky mess on the glass that will take several hours to scrape.
